In the latest PNI 2020 edition, 65 startups from 14 Regional StartCups reached the final.

 

On the occasion of the final event held on 4 December in live streaming, the 4 winning startups were decreed, one for each category, to which a cash prize of 25,000 euros was awarded.

 

The startup that was recognized as winner of the National Innovation Award won the PNI Champions Cup, which was awarded to the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.

AWARDS AND SPECIAL MENTIONS 2020 

Special G-Factor Award

The award was aimed at teams in the Life Sciences field and consists of direct access to the last phase of evaluation of the Call For Innovation 2021 - Life Science & amp Digital Health, which includes a series of one-to-one meetings with representatives from the world scientific, industrial and venture capital. To access the prize, the winning team must apply on the Gust platform (www.g-factor.it);

Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center Special Award

The special award offers the selected Startup a Coaching session with Bill Barber, Head of Evaluation and Startup Acceleration of Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Center as well as coach and mentor, Californian serial entrepreneur, business angel. The training session will be focused on defining the business plan and improving the presentation pitch of the start up.

 

LIFTT Innovation Contest Special Prize

The award consists of the possibility of entering the LIFTT portfolio, an investment operating company that promotes an ethical business model inspired by the ESG (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance Criteria), thanks to an investment of 50,000 euros and support for growth management and strategic by his Project Management team. Mito Technology Special Award "Progress Tech Transfer PoC of the Year"

The prize was awarded to the best proof-of-concept proposal for technologies related to sustainability characterized by a TRL equal to at least 4. The winning project will be entitled to a package of services in kind of the equivalent of € 12,000, represented by an analysis of first-level freedom to operate for technology, an intellectual property rating report and a review of the proposal through a fund-designated coach. Furthermore, the best proposals were also evaluated for the purposes of a possible funding of the proof-of-concept.

 

UniCredit Start Lab Special Award

The award gives access to the UniCredit business platform and includes:

  • assignment of a mentor chosen from professionals, consultants, entrepreneurs, UniCredit partners on innovation for periodic comparisons with startups on strategic and growth aspects;

  • participation in the Startup Academy;

  • coaching program by the UniCredit Start Lab team;

  • assignment of a UniCredit Relationship Manager to follow banking needs;

  • for startups that have the prerequisites, organization of Business Meetings with UniCredit Corporate customers and with possible investors.

 

Special Award "EIT Health InnoStars

The startup selected in the Life Sciences category is expected to participate in the first bootcamp of the InnoStars Awards 2021, a business incubation program dedicated to teams from Italy, Portugal, Poland and Hungary. The prize will consist of free participation in the bootcamp, coverage of travel and accommodation costs (up to a maximum of two people) and access to the large network of European experts.

 

Special mention "Social Innovation"

The special mention for the best Social Innovation project is defined on the basis of the relative criteria expressed by the legislation for innovative startups. Sponsored by ALTIS - Alta Scuola Impresa e Società of the Catholic University of Milan, the mention rewards the winner with a scholarship (to cover enrollment costs) for an ALTIS Master of choice between Executive Master in Strategic Development of SMEs and Executive Master in Social Entrepreneurship.

The scholarship can be redeemed during the year 2021 and is not bound to the actual establishment of the company.

 

Special Mention "Equal opportunities"

The award includes a contribution of € 16,000 + VAT divided as follows:

€ 10,000 + VAT for the first classified team, which will be provided in the form of services. They will have the opportunity to access executive training courses provided by the MIP Politecnico di Milano Graduate School of Business through the MIP Management Academy up to the aforementioned amount.

€ 6,000 + VAT will also be provided in the form of services, guaranteeing the team of the second classified project an analogous possibility to access, up to the aforementioned amount, the executive training courses provided by the MIP Politecnico di Milano Graduate School of Business through the MIP Management Academy.
